my boy

Lex, our little Picasso, loves to draw. He'll draw anything that gets into his attention.

Lyric
ONO Lisa - "My Boy"

First time I saw my son, I knew I was in love
Because he was the gift I got from somewhere up above
O wow, o yes, o joy, so joy right here in my arms
He looks at me, I can see he's showing all his charms
Can't remember what I do before I saw his face
But now he's here and I can feel his amazing grace

Watching him play, somehow reminds me of myself
Once upon a different time when I was someone else
O me, o my, I feel so high every single day
O yes, o lay, my lord yea yea watching my son play
First time he'd walk detours I step in to a chance
I took his hand and then we start it likes dance
The first dance was so fine that I never will forget
He held my hand so tightly that I had start dancing yet

My love, my boy, my son, my joy always keep your glow
And know that love will be with you wherever you may go
And if something should fall apart somewhere down the line
Just tell me all about it and I will make it fine

I'd travel many roads before but somehow they were wrong
And sometime we find that life is just a simple song
Even the saddest songs ever human face
I will always keep my son in love's magic place

revamping the closet

Carrie Bradshaw's closet
SEX AND THE CITY - TV series

On December 26 (days ago), hubby went to his hometown to celebrate his mother's birthday on the day after.
He always go there by car. That's the default system that works in his brain. He has a huge phobia of flying.
He knows that he has to endure 10 to 12 hours road trip, compare to the 45 minutes by plane.
Me and our son Lex didn't tag along, since Chinese New Year is happening soon (January 23, 2012). I've booked our flight and hotel room weeks ago.
I don't think I'm that excited welcoming the year of the Dragon (Water Dragon, to be exact).

Today, when he was on his way back here, I was busy revamping the closet in our bedroom.
It was the only thing I did all day long. So much fun (^,^)v
I didn't know why I had the urge to do that, but I did literally took everything out of the closet, sorted it all through, and rearranged everything.
Found so many pieces of clothes that I don't need anymore, put them all in a huge laundry basket, and gave them away to my home staffs (Lex's nanny and the housekeeper).

It was more exhausting than hitting the gym, but it gave me a huge satisfaction inside.
I was so proud of myself for being able to do the project I've been wanting to do two months ago. And I finished it right before the sun vanished into the horizon, 90 minutes before hubby arrived home.
That was great, so he didn't have to see all the mess I've created in the bedroom when I was revamping the whole thing.

counting the time ...

It's December 28, 2011, already.
I'm making a mental note that 2012 really is just around the corner (believe me, I do try).
Whether I like it or not, ready or not, the future is coming.
More resolutions, more hopes, more happiness, more challenges.
A New Year is always feels like a new beginning.

Cloudy moody morning awaits for another pouring rain.
Looking outside my window, and the cast of grey is so dominant.

I miss my hubby so much, I feel just as moody as the weather outside.
Keep on reminding myself that he'll be back home tomorrow evening.
Oh, if only he wasn't so afraid of flying, he would be here a lot sooner. A day sooner!
In the meantime, I have our most precious beloved son here accompany me with all his curiosity and cuteness. The love of my life.

a passion for tweed jacket

Wendy Nguyen, blog author of www.wendyslookbook.com

I think it was about 2 years ago, when I started to fall in love with the uniqueness of tweed jacket. Saw some lovely ones at Kate Spade.
Didn't have the courage to go and buy one, since I had no idea on what to pair with it.

Today, many many thanks to Wendy Nguyen, and her friend Jean, I could finally bought my first tweed jacket.

Here is Wendy Nguyen.

She has a very lovely blog. She calls it her fashion diary.

I learn a lot from her on how to dress myself (^,^)v

Wendy and her boyfriend (she calls him Mystery Man, since he never make any appearance on any of Wendy's videos, so the audience has no idea how he looks like) did many pairing episodes and uploads them all on YouTube, titled Wendy's Lookbook.
They also have many other interesting episodes about Wendy's activities.

Jean, blog author of www.extrapetite.com

Here is Jean.
She wrote a detailed review about this particular tweed jacked she's wearing in the picture.
I love how she described the craftsmanship and quality of it.
Really helped me made the decision to buy one for myself.

Malang tweed jacket from UniQUEEN on www.extrapetite.com

And here are the tweed jackets I'm talking about.
Classic, collarless, and very Coco Chanel look (without having to murder my mortal bank account).
The name is Malang Tweed Jacket from UniQUEEN.
Available in two colors only : Baby Pink (US$92.99) & Deep Blue (US$102.99)
Wendy wears the Deep Blue one, and Jean the Baby Pink one.
Me? I bought the Deep Blue. Baby Pink is just "too sweet".

the woodlands

The Woodlands are Hannah and Samuel, a wife and husband indie folk-pop duo from Portland. They craft songs of melancholy and mirth that conjure faraway lands and the longing of lovers with timeless imagery that unearths both the shadow of tragedy and the glisten of wonder.

After marrying several years ago and backpacking through Europe and Central America, they returned to the US and continued writing songs together. They found themselves in a corner of their Portland apartment bedroom amidst an aged and worn wooden desk, elusive quiet night hours, and a homemade studio fort of blankets and pillows. There The Woodlands traveled the byways of one another's souls--seeking, listening and searching for words and sounds with which to share what they found. They independently recorded and produced their self-released debut album, which has been received with both national and international exposure and accolades.

In a burst of creative experimentation, a synthpop dance remix project called Heavy Hands Remix emerged in the repertoire. The Woodlands worked with close friend Chris Meyers to mix up a blissful electronic ruckus as they deconstructed and reshaped five indie folk tracks from their previously released debut album. Somewhere between the flurry of projects and the hum-drum of quiet life, the next full-length album is also now in the works for The Woodlands, as they continue to mine the songwriting ore from the depths of their cavernous creativity.

lyric
UNTIL THE DAY DIMS

That day Saturday took us to your door
Sat in the kitchen with windows open so wide
Slowly candidly words were unfolding
Hands on the table and grasping, comfort our souls

And we’ll linger, until the day dims
Suddenly leaves us, then we’ll go
And we’ll linger, until the night falls
Flooding the sidewalks, then we’ll go

We tried not to collide with the moment
Wear it away like a photograph, yellow with time
Young spring it can be fleeting we gather
Holding the tones of our laughter, filling the room

And we’ll linger, until the day dims
Suddenly leaves us, then we’ll go
And we’ll linger, until the night falls
Flooding the sidewalks

Oh oh oh ohhhh... Oh oh oh ohhhh... Oh oh oh ohhhh

And we’ll linger, until the day dims
Suddenly leaves us, then we’ll go
And we’ll linger, until the night falls
Flooding the sidewalks, then we’ll go

i ♥ blogging

Met hubby in 2004. Married in 2005. Gave birth of our son Lex in 2006.
Gave up blogging in 2007, because of sleep depraved. Gave most of my time, energy and attention for my precious little baby boy. He's the love of my life. The source of my daily happiness.

Family, relatives & friends are on Facebook and Twitter.
So I tag along (as they requested), mainly because I don't wanna lose contact with them. Also because Facebook and Twitter are not as time consuming as blogging. Social networking on the Internet is making it so easy to stay in touch with the people I love, no matter how far we live from each other.

It's almost the end of the year 2011 now. Lex just celebrated his 5th birthday. He's so smart, kind, well behaved, and has a gentle loving heart. His level of maturity and independent is way above his age. I could make time for blogging now.

I blog for me. Not for showing, or bragging.
I appreciate and enjoy little things in life (something that is too weird to some particular snobbish people I know).
This is why I love photography so much. It catches the moments of live, and preserve them forever.

Wendy calls her blog a fashion diary, mine would be a simple online memoir.
I won't get any younger. Can't count on my brain cells to remember every little detail in my life.
I don't wanna write in a book anymore, since I keep on losing it. *sigh* (>.<)
Just hope this online world will keep on going till I check myself out of this world someday in the future.

happy 5th birthday, my precious baby boy

The birthday boy is hiding behind his birthday cake.
He started designing his own birthday cake when he was about to turn 3 years old.
He likes stacked cake, tiny colorful plastic balloons,
and a real toy car on top of the cake,
so he can play with the car and balloons right after he blows the candle.

Hubby, Lex, and me.
I'm so grateful for being so blessed in this lifetime.

It was such a lovely afternoon in our petite garden. Home sweet home.
The air was so breezy. Perfect for taking family pictures.

Me and my guys.
The love my life.
The source of my daily happiness.
